Matt Ferguson’s Avengers Art Continues to Excel With Minimalistic Awesomeness
For the past six years Disney has commissioned the work of Matt Ferguson for the Avengers movie franchise within its MCU empire. Ferguson has provided posters for the original Avengers, as well as Avengers: Age of Ultron, and now he has been tapped for the recently released Avengers: Infinity War.
His style is what I like to describe as being minimalistic, because he uses shadows expertly to flesh out the characters, as well as keeping their features defined enough, but not so detailed. I first became a fan of his work when he created the covers for the MCU Phase 1 box set, which featured his Avengers poster. His new Infinity War poster on the other hand mixes in the style of the original Avengers poster and the one he did for Age of Ultron, which featured much more color and detail in general. It looks fantastic, so head on down below to check it out in full along with Ferguson’s other Avengers related prints.
6 years and counting of my Avengers art, and it all comes down to this. Infinity War is out from tomorrow midnight. It’s been the highlight of my career working on art for these films, thank you @Marvel and @Kevfeige. And long may it continue! pic.twitter.com/ltiuDji6Nq
