Marvel’s promotion machine for Guardians of the Galaxy is in full swing now thanks to the release of the first official trailer. Considering that many geeks are probably like me, and don’t know much about the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise, Marvel has released new character spotlight videos for the main cast. Each video is about 30-seconds in length, and they focus on one of the five Guardians.

The first one released is for Rocket, who is a gun wielding raccoon voiced by Bradley Cooper. The second one released is for Rocket’s partner Groot, who is a tree-like being voiced by Vin Diesel (talk about perfect casting.) Following those two vids is the spot for Drax the Destroyer, who is played by the hulking Dave Bautista, who indeed looks like a tank. The most current spotlight video to release is for Gamora, who is a green looking alien babe played by Zoe Saldana of Star Trek fame.

[UPDATE] Star-Lord’s video is now ready. One video remains to be released, which is for Star-Lord aka Peter Quill, the quasi-leader of the Guardians, who is played by Chris Pratt. We will be sure to update this post once his spotlight trailer releases. In the mean time head on down below to check out the four available videos.

Guardians of the Galaxy is directed by James Gunn and stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, Karen Gillan, Djimon Hounsou, John C. Reilly, Glenn Close and Benicio del Toro.

Guardians of the Galaxy Plot Description:

“Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” finds space adventurer Peter Quill the object of a bounty hunt after stealing an orb coveted by a treacherous villain, but when Quill discovers the power it holds, he must find a way to rally the quartet of ragtag rivals hot on his trail to save the universe.”
