Metal Gear Solid HD Collection Headed to the PS Vita This Summer

Konami announced today that they will be shipping a PS Vita version of their Metal Gear Solid HD collection sometime this summer.  The Vita edition of this remake will consist of METAL GEAR SOLID 2: Sons of Liberty, and METAL GEAR SOLID 3: Snake Eater, both remade with HD visuals and touch-based gameplay specifically for the Vita.  I think this may be the time for me to jump onto this franchise altogether, because up until now I have’t played a Metal Gear game since the NES.

Yeah I know, weak, but it’s just one of those popular franchises that I’ve managed to pass on up until now.  Hopefully the PS Vita edition will be a great introduction to this series that has garnered much praise over the years.  For the full details in regards to MGS: HD for the PS Vita head on down past the break.  You’ve been thinking that this will probably a must own Vita title for gamers who have never dabbled with Snake…

Metal Gear Solid HD for the PS Vita Press Release

From the series’ critically acclaimed director, Hideo Kojima,  METAL GEAR SOLID HD Collection updates two of the most popular METAL GEAR SOLID titles in true high definition. The PlayStation®Vita collection boasts enhanced versions of the acclaimed METAL GEAR SOLID 2: Sons of Liberty and METAL GEAR SOLID 3: Snake Eater titles, and both games enjoy graphical make-overs, trophies and bespoke controls systems designed to make the most of the PlayStation®Vita’s touch-screen capabilities. Similarly, the games enjoy a rebalanced user interface and make use of Kojima Productions’ unique TRANSFARRING system for data sharing with PlayStation®3 units.

“The PlayStation®Vita system will provide fans with an exciting new way to enjoy the  METAL GEAR SOLID HD Collection,” said Martin Schneider, General Manager for Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH. “We’re confident that users will be pleased with the new innovations Kojima Productions have implemented with the new PlayStation®Vita iterations, offering a truly unique experience for this exciting new format.”
