Metroid: Samus Returns Overview – Just Enough New Stuff

Metroid: Samus Returns, the upcoming remake of Metroid II, looks to recapture the magic of the classic game while adding enough new features to entice everyone! Adding melee counters and new super abilities is sure to add new ways to tackle old areas. Of course, the original game was for the Game Boy, so the new areas will probably resemble the old ones just enough to justify calling it a remake.

The gameplay looks just as varied between fast-paced combat and platforming as it always was, which makes me very happy. There’s a certain balance that needs to be struck in these games between satisfying combat challenging, yet rewarding platforming puzzles. Check out the overview trailer above and let us know what you think about the new features!
