Microsoft Offering Free Gears 3 Beta Codes for Friends of Testers

Microsoft has been sending out emails to Gears of War 3 beta testers in regards to a program that will allow them to score up to 5 additional beta access codes to share with friends.  These free Gears 3 beta codes will be mailed to eligible testers on May 8th, but you’ll have to do a little work if you want to invite 5 of your poor a*s friends who couldn’t afford to get in the beta on their own.   Basically, this is an attempt to squeeze even more people into the Gears 3 beta before it ends later this month, as well as a ploy to get current beta testers to fork over more cash to MS.

According to the criteria for scoring extra Gears 3 beta codes I should have at least 3 codes to give away on 5/8.  I could have more if Microsoft back dates some of the requirements, but I think Osama Bin Laden has a better chance of having a statue erected in his honor than MS giving me something for free.  For those of you that have been diligently gaming in the Gears 3 beta you can look at what you need to do to score more access codes for your cheap-skate friends after the break.

I’ll make sure to give mine away once I get them on the 8th, so follow @EntBuddha on Twitter, and Like the site’s Facebook Page if you’re interested in scoring a code for the Gears 3 beta!  You won’t be disappointed.  You’ve been needing a job, so you don’t have to rely on offers like this to play new games…

5 Ways to Score Additional Gears 3 Beta Access Codes

  1. Gimme – Every current beta tester gets a code to give away
  2. Buy Gears of War DLC – If you purchase DLC for Gears 1 and 2 you can score another free access code (Not sure if this will be Grandfathered)
  3. Extend Xbox Live Membership – Renew your Gold membership (Not sure if this is Grandfathered either)
  4. Play Gears 1 and 2 – Anyone that has logged over 100 hours of GOW gaming will get a code (GOW 1 and 2 both single and multiplayer count)
  5. Log 20 hours in the Gears 3 Beta – The log begins today, so the first 2 weeks of the beta don’t count
