Microsoft Releasing ‘Insect’ App To Show Off the Power of the Xbox One X

Microsoft just put out a video for an app it has created for the Xbox One X to show off what the console can do. The app is called Insects, and it will release tomorrow alongside the Xbox One X.

This app was initially created to show off to developers what they could do with their games if they ran on the Xbox One X, but MS felt the app could have another use if gamers could get their hands on it to see exactly what the Xbox One X can do. It allows gamers to see what 4K can do for visuals, as well as HDR. It even shows off the console’s spacial sound technology, which comes courtesy of Dolby Atmos.

4K, HDR, and Spatial audio can be toggled on or off at any time using the app to show off the changes do for the visuals displaying on the screen. The app even allows you to zoom in to the pixel level to see the quality that the Xbox One X can provide if developers take full advantage of its power. Insects should be available to download on the Xbox One X on November 7th.
