I’ve pretty much come to the conclusion that if there’s a will, there’s a way when it comes to paying homage to games of the past using the Minecraft engine. The community over at minecrafta2z has painstakingly recreated the opening fight against Joe Glass using stop motion technology, and a whole lot of carefully placed blocks. I sh*t you not, you’ll think you’re looking at old footage from the NES classic when you watch the video. I actually thought it to be fake until I watched the making-of video, which I’ll also embed below. That’s how faithful they remained to Punch-Out even though they only had the Minecraft engine and some blocks to work with. Check it out below and tell me you’re not impressed!
