Mortal Kombat fans from the old school of gaming can get their hands on the Mortal Kombat Kollection today, which is a downloadable title featuring MK1, MK2, and Ultimate MK3.  These are the games that started it all, and they’re easily one of my fondest memories of my childhood.  The moment I watched this trailer I couldn’t help but be transported back to the early 90’s in Pittsburgh, PA hanging at the Ross Park Mall arcade with none other than @BenBarto and The Kwaz.

I would have to consider these Mortal Kombat titles my first foray into multiplayer gaming, and I’ll always cherish the thrill of knocking someone off the arcade cabinet and having my next challenger slap his quarter on the screen effectively issuing his challenge.  Gamers looking for a little nostalgia can download the Kombat Kollection today on both XBLA and PSN.  It’ll cost about 800 MS points which converts to….oh f*ck it.  Just buy it if you want it.  Besides there’s achievements!  You’ve been remembering when arcades were relevant…
