Mortal Kombat: Legacy Series Spawns New Feature Film Deal

The 9 episode run of the Mortal Kombat: Legacy Web Series has yielded its director a chance to create another Mortal Kombat feature film.  Kevin Tancharoen is the visionary behind this wildly popular web series, which for the most part was a pretty solid look at a Mortal Kombat world free of the cheesiness of the first two Mortal Kombat movies.  I did enjoy the 9 episode run, but they were not without flaw.  Some of them really sucked Liu Kang’s left nut, but towards the end you could feel that the crew behind them were finally hitting their stride.

If New Line Cinema can get all of the legal mumbo-jumbo worked out I’d definitely go and see a feature length Tancharoen Mortal Kombat movie.  If you haven’t seen his MK webisodes yet head on over to this link to get an idea of his vision on what the Mortal Kombat franchise should be.  If you don’t have the time to sit through all 9 episodes you can get an idea of what the series looks like in one of its trailers below.  You’ve been willing to give another Mortal Kombat movie a chance…
