The official trailer for the Goosebumps movie was released this week, and it stars every creature that frightened you and me as a kid. Jack Black plays the prolific R.L. Stine as his nosey new neighbor unleashes the monsters we love to fear. The gang then has to figure out a way to neutralize the threats, though if Stine’s books have taught us anything, there’s sure to be a fantastic twist at the end. Catch Goosebumps in theaters on October 16th.
The Finest Hours
Disney released the first trailer for its film based on the true story of the Pendleton rescue mission in 1952. A Nor’easter hit and split apart to oil tankers, and the Coast Guard went on its most daring attempt to try and save the crew off of Cape Cod in the frigid winter weather. The film stars Chris Pine, Casey Affleck, Ben Foster, and Eric Bana, and is set for a January 2016 release.
If you’re curious about the upcoming Star Wars films, check out the photo above for the projected slate over the next few years. This leaked photo from the San Diego Comic Con shows the next three mainline films, Rogue One, and two standalone films about Obi-Wan Kenobi and a Bobba Fett/Han Solo film. News also broke this week that Han Solo will be getting an origin film, so maybe we’ll get to see the 12 Parsec Kessel Run that he boasts about so much (even though Parsecs is a measure of distance, but let’s not get into that right now).
Now that we know who the next Spider-Man will be, it’s time to find out who will play Aunt May. That casting call has been given to Oscar winner Marisa Tomei (Best Actress in a Supporting Role for My Cousin Vinny), who is rumored to make her first appearance as Aunt May in next year’s Captain America: Civil War, along with Tom Holland as the new Spidey. I think George Costanza would approve. Via Variety
Dominic Cooper will replace Henry Cavill in the European action-thriller based on the novels by Duncan Falconer. Cavill reportedly exited the movie less than a week before shooting was set to begin due to “creative differences” surrounding the script. The film focuses on a Special Boat Service operative and his attempts to track terrorists through Asia, Europe, and London. Via Deadline
