Septembers of Shiraz

Salma Hayek and Adrian Brody star in this thriller based on the best-selling novel of the same name by Dalia Sofer. The true story film follows a Jewish family and their journey during post-revolutionary Iran, with Brody’s character being captured and accused of espionage. His wife (Hayek) attempts to find her husband and break him out of captivity. No official release date has been announced.

Pawn Sacrifice

A new featurette for the upcoming biopic Pawn Sacrifice has been released, taking viewers behind the scenes of the film. Starring Toby McGuire as Bobby Fischer, arguably the greatest Chess player ever, the clip shows scenes from the film as well as interviews with the cast and crew as they tell the story of Fischer’s rise and fall. Pawn Sacrifice will be in theaters on September 16th.

Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse (Red Band Trailer)

In case you’re night feeling overwhelmed by Zombies and the end of the world stories, this new thriller/comedy might be worth checking out. The unlikely team-up of nerdy boy scouts and a stripper provides brain and beauty as they take on the zombie apocalypse. Just a warning, this is the red band trailer, so watch accordingly. It has a release date of October 30th. 

Man of Steel 2

On the Popcorn Talk YouTube channel, Jon Schnepp (who has worked in television and film) discusses the rumor circulating that George Miller is slated to direct Man of Steel 2. Miller directed the original Mad Max films, as well as this year’s hit Mad Max: Fury Road. While the first Man of Steel was received with mixed feelings, Warner Bros. hopes this addition to the DC Universe with Miller potentially at the helm will restore faith among the Superman faithful.

The Odyssey

Hugh Jackman has been in talks with Lionsgate to star in The Odyssey, based on the book of the same name by Homer. While nothing is set in stone, Jackman would be joining Mockingjay director Francis Lawrence, and writer Peter Craig. Via The Wrap
