Bridge of Spies

A new trailer for the upcoming film starring Tom Hanks was released this week. Based on a true story set during the Cold War, Hanks plays a Brooklyn lawyer who is chosen to negotiate the return of Francis Gary Powers, whose plane was shot down over the Soviet Union. The film is directed by Steven Spielberg and was written by Matt Charman and Ethan and Joel Coen. Alongside Hanks is Mark Rylance, Amy Ryan, and Alan Alda.

The Last Witch Hunter


Vin Diesel returns to the big screen as an immortal witch hunter, determined to rid himself of the curse of longevity so he can be with his family in the afterlife. The film also stars Julie Engelbrecht, Rose Leslie, Elijah Wood, Michael Caine, and Olafur Darri Olafson, and is set for an October 23rd release.

The extremely extreme reboot released a new trailer this week. Follow along as Johnny worms his way into Bodhi’s crew and pulls off various crime jobs in the most extreme way possible, then has to be reminded which side he’s supposed to be on. As time goes on, he learns it’s not about the money. Point Break will be in theaters this Christmas.

Ice Cube

Ice Cube is set to star as Ebenezer Scrooge in a modern re-telling of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol. Ice Cube will portray a real estate mogul who gets a visit from three spirits that show him the error of his ways. Universal Pictures won the rights to the film, beating out Walt Disney Pictures, MGM, and New Line. No timetable for release has been set. Via Deadline

20,000 Leagues Under the Sea

Bryan Singer posted on his Instagram account that his next directing job is the classic Jules Verne tale of Captain Nemo and his ship, the Nautilus. Disney has been rumored to have been working on a new film adaptation separate from Singer’s, who released the above picture in celebration of his 50th birthday.
