Just after the official announcement of the Nintendo Switch, we were treated with a Nintendo Direct that showcased the Fire Emblem series. We are going to be getting Fire Emblem games for the Nintendo Switch, Nintendo 3DS and a game on your smart device.
First off, Fire Emblem Heroes will be coming to your favorite mobile device. You play as a summoner that calls upon the aid of new and classic Fire Emblem heroes to aid your battle between two warring kingdoms. There will be easy touch controls as well as a wealth of new and old heroes to use. The heroes are drawn in new art styles from different illustrators. For more information regarding this title and pre-register information head on over the the website here. There is also a poll you can take to help decide some of the characters that will show up in the game.
1992 saw the release of the second Fire Emblem game that was originally only available in Japan. Fire Emblem: Shadows of Valentia will revive that second title onto the Nintendo 3DS family of systems. The entire game will be getting an overhaul including but not limited to: voice overs, dungeon exploration, and better graphics. You will be able to get your hands on this on May 19th along with an amiibo two-pack featuring Alm and Celica from Fire Emblem Gaiden.
From the Nintendo Switch presentation we were teased with a snippet from Fire Emblem Warriors. This is from the team over at KOEI TECMO, the guys responsible for all the Warriors games. With a scheduled launch this fall, Fire Emblem Warriors will release on the Nintendo Switch as well as the new Nintendo 3DS family which includes the regular and XL version of the handheld.
There hasn’t been a home title for Fire Emblem since we got Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn on the Wii. Unfortunately we won’t get this until 2018, but it’ll be well worth the wait. If you weren’t already hyped for the Switch, you should be now.
