Renren Games has released a brand new free game to the iTunes App Store today, and it mashes together two very unlikely properties – the NBA and aliens. NBA Rush features some of the NBA’s most popular stars such as Kobe, Lebron, and Blake Griffin, who are tasked with taking down an alien invasion with their basketball skills. Only the gaming Gods know how this idea came to be, but NBA Rush is real. Basketball players versus aliens; it’s Space Jam all over again.
NBA Rush is an endless runner, so even with its extremely odd concept it’ll still provide fans of that genre with fast-twitch action with a few twists on one of the more popular types of mobile games. For example, the NBA all-stars can execute crossovers, behind-the-back and through-the-legs dribble moves to change directions, and if those moves don’t work you can rely on the “NBA players’ hops to save the day.” Each player represented has a unique set of skills based on their b-ball prowess, so you’ll have to experiment to see which one is your favorite, and the best at dunking on alien heads on their way to victory.
To get a better look at NBA Rush we’ve included a boatload of screenshots to view after the break. For a free game it’s sports some pretty rad looking visuals, and the likenesses of each athlete are faithfully captured. The concept may sound out of this world (sorry), but before you dismiss NBA Rush give it a try by downloading it for free on iTunes.
