Need For Speed: Official Gamescom Trailer Released

Gamescom 2015 is a breeding ground for new announcements, and an official Need For Speed trailer is just among the many. Beautiful, realistic graphics aren’t the only perk the game has to offer – this iteration places a focus on a personalized narrative structured around the real-life automotive stars of today’s ever-growing urban car culture.

You are the main character. You get to be the one who drives the streets with your favorite iconic stars, some of whom include:

  • Speed Icon: Magnus Walker – classic Porsche 911 collector
  • Style Icon: Ken Block – notoriously aggressive driver
  • Build Icon: Nakai-san – founder of RAUH-Welt BEGRIFF
  • Crew Icon: Risky Devil – infamous drift crew
  • Outlaw Icon: Morohoshi-san – rebel without (or with?) a cause

Marcus Nilsson, Executive Producer at Ghost Games mentions in a press release:

“We’re honored to be working with these icons – they live and breathe the lifestyle we’re looking to recreate and have been such an inspiration to the team as we return Need For Speed back to greatness. We wanted to create a powerful story that’s emotional but also pushes the boundaries of technology by adding real-time compositing to the power of Frostbite. This allows us, for the first time ever, to blend live action film seamlessly with your in-game car and garage.”

Sounds like it couldn’t get much better. At least we have a shiny new¬†trailer to salivate over until the game’s slated release date of November 3rd, 2015. Xbox One, PS4, and PC owners (chances are you fall into one of those) should be keeping an eye out for this one.

“Making you a better geek, one post at a time!”
