Netflix Posts First Video of Henry Cavill as Geralt for ‘The Witcher’ Series

Netflix has posted the first official look at Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia for its The Witcher live-action series. The short video shows Cavill in full on Geralt gear, sans beard, and he walks towards the camera, stares at it, and then takes a swig from his booze bag.

I have to say that Cavill really does look like Geralt with the full getup on. The white, long hair, and leather armor really sell the look, as does Cavill’s face, which certainly resembles the look of Geralt from the Witcher video games. I will say that he looks a bit too young and pretty though. I’m hoping they rough up his face a bit, so he doesn’t look so youthful and full of life. Geralt, for all of his power, tends to look a bit ragged in the video games, but that’s not the case in this screen test at least. He needs the scar makeup added at least, and a little stubble wouldn’t hurt. Overall though, I like what I see.

Check out Cavill as Geralt below. Netflix’s The Witcher series will debut sometime in 2019.
