Netflix to Air Season 2 of The Punisher This January

We don’t know the exact date yet, but based on Netflix’s “New to Netflix in January” trailer, it appears that Season 2 of The Punisher will debut next month. Just don’t expect the show to carry on after that season airs though, because as we’ve previously reported, the show will be cancelled like the other Marvel properties on Netflix’s streaming service.

Hopefully the show will end on a high note though, and according to our sources, it will. There will be some awesome action set pieces if anything else, and plenty of brutal fights to take in. I can’t wait to see how Frank’s latest story plays out, but this announcement is bittersweet thanks to the fact that the show will be cancelled after the just two seasons. It’s a shame that Netflix and Disney couldn’t come to a deal to keep these shows on Netflix, but apparently the streaming service didn’t want to play by Disney’s old rules anymore, so the cancellations could ultimately be out of spite.

Stay tuned for more details on the exact launch date of Season 2 of The Punisher.
