2K Games has just released a trailer for their upcoming ‘pre-sequel’ to Borderlands 2. The cleverly named Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, is said to “focus on Handsome Jack and his attempt to escape his exile from the Hyperion moon base”. Randy Pitchford from Gearbox Software, the studio that will be developing the game alongside 2k Australia, said that the game with explore the “moral ambiguity” in relation to the villainous character of Handsome Jack.

Gameplay is said to still be familiar to the previous Borderlands games with the addition of new weapon types such as laser and cryogenic weaponry. Low gravity will also be another gameplay element with O2 ‘jetpacks’ helping you jump around maps. Co-op and multiplayer is also said to be included again as well.

The game will be available on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC on October 14, 2014. Watch the trailer above, because there’s some gameplay in there somewhere.
