New Bond Film Title And Cast Released
Daniel Craig is set to return as James Bond in the 24th installment which will feature Christoph Waltz (Inglorious Basterds, Django Unchained) as the main antagonist. According to the film’s IMDB page, Waltz is slated to play Oberhauser, which leads to a few rumors about the villain:
– It could be Hannes Oberhauser, who was once Bond’s skiing instructor and father figure who mysteriously disappeared.
– Waltz’s character would be Oberhauser’s son, Franz, which could make sense given the timeline.
– Waltz’s character may be introduced as Oberhauser, but turn out to be SPECTRE (SPecial Executive for Counter-intelligence, Terrorism, Revenge and Extortion) leader Ernst Stavro Blofeld, who has appeared in seven of the Bond films. While there was no mention of Blofeld at the press conference, do keep in mind that he is a master of disguise, even going so far as plastic surgery to keep himself hidden.
Along with Waltz, the film will star newcomers Andrew Scott (Sherlock), Dave Bautista (Guardians of the Galaxy), Monica Bellucci (Matrix Reloaded/Revolutions), and Léa Seydoux (Inglorious Basterds). Returning cast members include Rory Kinnear, Ben Whishaw, Naomie Harris, and Ralph Fiennes. The film is set to release in the U.S. November 2015.
