After the uncharacteristic fifth week from October, it’s back to business as usual for comics publishers. DC wraps up one of their oft-published hyped titles with Superman Unchained #9 and they roll out the usual suspects for the first printing week of the month with Action Comics #36, Detective Comics #36, Green Arrow #36, Green Lantern #36, Swamp Thing #36, plus Gotham Academy #2, and Earth 2 #28. Marvel, who does not adhere to a traditional publishing schedule, begins the next phase of “AXIS” and officially begins “Spider-Verse” with a core series entry plus Spider-Verse Team-up #1. Elsewise they have All-New X-Factor #16, Deadpools Art of War #2, Hulk #8, Rocket Raccoon #5, X-Men #21, and two “Death of Wolverine” supplementary titles. A little light for Image who has Chew #44, God Hates Astronauts #3, Nailbiter #7, and a few more that found their way into the highlighted section.

The debut of a book solicited as a mash-up of Conan, Game of Thrones, and Kamandi is about a secret conclave of wizards that brings a legendary champion back through time to save the world. Written by noted author Kurt Busiek (Astro City, Marvels), this book is over-sized with no ads and is STILL $2.99! I’m looking right at you when I write this, Marvel.

AXIS #4 (Marvel)
This is where Marvel would flicker the lights to signal that the next act of “AXIS” is about to begin, so put out your cigarette, finish up in the wash room, and refill your beverage as in your programs you’ll find ACT II: INVERSION.
