The strange land of Drangleic has never looked better than it does in the new batch of Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin screenshots released today.

Essentially the definitive version of Dark Souls IIScholar of the First Sin is the upcoming re-release of From Software’s hit game, packaged with all of the game’s downloadable content, improved visuals, and reworked game mechanics.

Of all the new features coming to Scholar of the First Sin, the notion of the touted improved visuals is by far the most exciting. Dark Souls II famously received a massive downgrade in its lighting system weeks before the game came out last year, making the released game look a far cry from its pre-release footage.

However, the Scholar of the First Sin screenshots, found below, look to carry some noticeable improvements to the game’s graphics. Everything looks crisper, a fine notion when compared to the constant death and decay found in Drangleic.
