New Destiny Screens and Details Revealed in Official Press Release

Destiny_Tsr_Keyart

Bungie finally showed off their new game called Destiny yesterday via this ViDoc, and today Activision has supplemented that information with an official press release and new game screens.  Obviously the gaming industry is abuzz with this news and all sorts of speculations have been coming out for it.  The biggest question on everyone’s mind is will this game be for the next-gen consoles from Sony and Microsoft, or is it coming out for the current-gen of machines.

Based on the press release though it looks like Destiny will be coming out for the Xbox 360, and PS3.  Although, Activision doesn’t plan on releasing it in 2013, which is odd considering that there’s already Amazon pre-order details for the game.  They have also mentioned that this franchise will be present in the next generation of hardware, so that means it’s either coming out for both the current systems and the new, or the next three entries in the series will be for the likes of the PS4 and Xbox 720 (temp names).

Oh well, if anything I think it’s safe to say that Destiny will be a solid science fiction FPS game from Bungie.  While we wait for additional details I encourage you to check out some new screens from the game after the break.  You can also read snippets of the official press release from Activision.  You’ve been hoping this game is half as good as Halo…
