New God of War Gameplay Preview Offers Promising Look at Kratos’ Return

The new God of War is just about a month away from releasing for the PS4 family of consoles, so Sony and Santa Monica Studios have released a massive new gameplay preview for it today, as well as a few other video assets to enjoy.

The extended gameplay preview can be seen above. It features about 15 minutes of pure unadulterated God of War gameplay, and will give you looks at the game’s combat system, exploration, and puzzles. I can tell you that the footage was captures from a PS4 Pro, so the visuals look as good as they’ll get for this game. They also make me want to get the PS4 Pro, but I have confidence that my standard launch unit will still offer up some amazing God of War visuals once the game launches towards the end of April.

There’s also a combat specific gameplay video, which is much shorter, and laser focused on the game’s battle system. You can check that out below.

Finally, a new cinematic trailer for the game dropped last night, and it is titled, “Arrow Trailer”. Think of it as a Father and Son hunting trip on steroids with arrows. Yeah, something like that. Check it out below.

God of War hits the PS4 on April 20, 2018.
