Brian Wilson  – No Pier Pressure

The Beach Boy puts out his first studio album of original songs since 2008’s That Old Lucky Sun. Joining him on the album are fellow Beach Boys Al Jardine and David Marks, and other guests include Zooey Deschanel, Nate Ruess, and my future wife, Kacey Musgraves.

Matt and Kim  – New Glow

The duo of Matt Johnson and my future wife Kim Schifino return with their fifth album this week, following up 2012’s Lightening. If you’re interested in checking out their live performance (they put on a good one), you can view their summer tour dates here.

Waxahatchee – Ivy Tripp

Releasing its third album this week is alternative/folk band Waxahatchee, spearheaded by Alabama-born Katie Crutchfield. Waxahatchee is known for intimate albums, and even with recent growth, the new album still has that feeling even as the songs ask grown-up questions and try to figure out what is next.

Doldrums – The Air Conditioned Nightmare

Montreal native Arick Woodhead releases his second album this week after his well-received 2013 debut Lesser Evil. The elctro-pop producer looks to expand on his initial success, turning to the world of Internet paranoia and dark, alt-club sounds on his new album may sound a bit more aggressive than his debut release.

Be sure to check out some new music; you might just find your new favorite band.
