New Music Monday-ish for 5-26-15
The Vaccines – English Graffiti
Releasing their third album since their 2010 formation, these English indie rockers embrace their rock and roll elements. Instead of trying to fight for credibility, the band is opening its arms to their sound, while having fun and making a great album in the process.
Unknown Mortal Orchestra – Multi-Love
The trio consisting of singer/guitarist Ruban Nielson, bassist Jake Portrait, and drummer Riley Geare provide their newest musical effort with Multi-Love this week. Their previous records were a bit heavier on guitar and psychedelic sounds, while this one is more song-oriented, with a strong classical influence.
So Stressed – The Unlawful Trade of Greco-Roman Art
The newest album from the California punk trio is available this week, using their past punk inspirations to unleash a frenzied record. While their previous 2012 record was slightly more sing-along, this new release takes a slightly more hostile direction.
Valet – Nature
Honey Owens and co. return with their third studio album under the Valet moniker after a brief hiatus experimenting with other sounds and musicians. Owens’ experiences with dance music have influenced this album, though it’s more psych pop than dance.
