Here’s what’s on tap:

Bleachers – Strange Desire

Jack Antonoff (one-third of the group fun.) kept this project quiet, only breaking the silence when he released the hit single I Wanna Get Better in February of this year. Putting the album together while on the road with fun., Antonoff has stated that Bleachers is not to be taken as a departure from fun., but merely a side project. I’ve been anxiously awaiting this album, so of course it’s my pick of the week.

Jason Mraz – Yes!

Jason Mraz is back with his fifth studio album, a 14-track acoustic record with its first single “Love Someone” (as seen in the video above). Mraz explained in an interview with about how he teamed up with the all-female folk group Raining Jane to make a more intimate record. While the sound may be a little softer than his previous releases, the songwriting that he’s known for is still there.

Morrissey – World Peace Is None Of Your Business

The tenth solo album by the former frontman of the Smiths is out as well this week. While this is his first album in five years, he did release an autobiography last year that sold beyond expectations. The new album has a bit of a different sound than some of his previous records, but still maintains the Smiths/Morrissey lyrics the fans have come to love over the years.

Weird Al Yankovic – Mandatory Fun

I can’t let this go unnoticed. Weird Al is back with his newest parody record, with such hits as “Foil” (“Royals”), “Tacky” (“Happy”), “Word Crimes” (“Blurred Lines”), and a medley called “NOW That’s What I Call Polka” (“Wrecking Ball”, “Call Me Maybe”, “Gangnam Style”, “Thrift Shop”, and more). While I couldn’t find a video for any of his new songs at this time, the above is his song that created a buzz in my hometown of Lancaster when I was in fourth grade. Take some time to check out new music; you just might find your new favorite band.
