At the most recent Nintendo Direct, Nintendo revealed that the latest addition to the Nintendo 3DS family will be releasing in North America this February. Set to release on February 13, 2015, the handheld, dubbed the New Nintendo 3DS XL, the latest in Nintendo’s handheld offerings features a number of new additions, including a C stick as well as ZL and ZR buttons.

In addition to the new buttons, the New Nintendo 3DS XL also features vastly improved 3D technology thanks to improved face-tracking, allowing for more stable 3D use than ever before.


The New Nintendo 3DS XL also comes with built-in NFC technology, allowing for instant Amiibo support.

Nintendo’s latest 3DS XL is built with the intention to usher in the next big wave of handheld titles, including Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate and Majora’s Mask 3D. The new buttons and features included in the handheld ensure that with the upcoming wealth of exciting 3DS titles, handheld gaming will never be the same.
