When Kenny Baker passed the Star Wars universe lost one of its most iconic actors, and one who had starred in every Skywalker Saga film from 1977 until 2015. Fans wondered how he could be replaced, or if he’d be replaced. Well thanks to a tweet we now know the answer.

There will indeed by a new actor inside R2-D2 in The Last Jedi and subsequent films, and the actor is Jimmy Vee. Vee is a Scottish actor who has been in many sci-fi films and TV shows prior to joining the Star Wars universe. He even looks a bit like Baker, not that that matters when it comes to playing R2, but it is kind of striking how similar they look.
