Arma 3 players will be getting a free campaign episode on October 31, 2013 called ‘Survive.’ The DLC will put players in the shoes of Ben Kerry, a regular soldier stationed in the Republic of Altis & Stratis. Kerry will have to think fast and ease tensions during the NATO peacekeeping mission that he’s a part of, because CSAT forces have moved in thanks to the lack of troop support due to a gradual withdrawal of US forces.
Jay Crowe, Creative Director on Arma 3 also promises that the campaign content will also allow the more creative Arma 3 players to produce even more content to be shared with the community. Crowe explained how the new content will lead to greater options for creators by saying, “Of course, it’s not just about our own story, but another opportunity to provide yet more building blocks for the platform – new weapons, animations, 3D objects, scripted modules – each designed to grant content creators even greater freedom to create and share their own content. Looking forward to the forthcoming episodes, we’ll continue to expand Arma 3’s sandbox with additions such as new vehicles.”
Gamers can still purchase the regular Arma 3 (44.99 EUR/39.99 GBP/59.99 USD), or the Arma 3 Digital Deluxe Edition (49.99 EUR/42.99 GBP/64.99 USD) from Steam and Store.bistudio.com. Retail copies of the game are in most major stores as well. Head on down below for a better look at the ‘Survive’ DLC content.
