The Nike+ Fuelband app for iOS was updated with a new Friends feature that allows you to keep tabs on other Fuelband users who happen to be your Facebook friends.  I would have liked this feature to not require the use of Facebook, but you can configure it in a way that won’t annoy your friends with stupid app updates in your feed all day long.  It’s not a perfect solution but the feature is nice to have, because you can now stay even more motivated in your quest for fitness.  The setup process is simple, but I’ll detail it to you slower geeks.

To enable this feature in the Fuelband app you will have to update it first via the App Store, and once that is complete head to the new ‘Friends’ tab.  You will then see a new ‘Get Started’ button to push, which will link your Facebook account to the Nike+ Fb app.  This is where you’ll want to pay attention to the settings, because if you allow it the app will post all of your activity in your feed, which will surely make your friends want to punch you in the balls.  I set mine to show only to me, and it still seems to allow my buddy with a Fuelband the ability to see my data in his Fuelband app for iOS, so there’s no need to blast your app activity publicly.

I did have an issue where I couldn’t see his data at first, but I went ahead and added the Nike+ app right from Fb rather than the app, and his Fuel score then showed in my Fuelband app.  This is definitely a step in the right direction for this app, and it’ll surely make your days a little more competitive now that you’re able to compare your goals to your friends in regards to earned Nike Fuel points.  So what are you waiting for?  Get your Nike+ Fuelband app updated now and start putting your friends to shame!  You’ve been needing to read our Nike+ Fuelband review
