Nintendo has become a master in releasing nostalgic hardware to get older gamers to re-buy games and devices they’ve already owned. The company proved this with the NES and SNES Classics, which have sold millions and would sell even more millions if Nintendo liked making profits. Its latest hardware bundle will surely get Nintendo fans all nostalgic feeling again, especially if they grew up in the 80’s or 90’s.
Nintendo has unveiled a new SNES 3DS XL handheld unit that comes bundled with the original Super Mario Kart that first debuted on the 16-bit console. This new handheld is just a 3DS XL, but it is designed to look like a SNES, and it nails the iconic look. It won’t get you anymore power or better graphics, it will just get you a more rad looking 3DS XL. If you don’t already own one of these devices, then this version is a no-brainer in my opinion, but if you own a 3DS already, or have already bought multiple 3DS’s due to other themed bundles you couldn’t pass up, then it’s hard to consider buying yet another 3DS XL. Either way, it looks dope as hell, so check it out in the gallery below.
If you like what you see you can pre-order the SNES 3DS XL today from Amazon for $199.99. It is set to release November 27, 2017.
