Nintendo has announced that it is discontinuing its Club Nintendo Rewards program, which has been up and running for the past six years. Club members can still earn coins for redemption through the service up until March, and the coins can be redeemed for goods up until June. After June the coins and Club Nintendo program will be defunct.

Nintendo is offering Club members Flipnote Studio 3D free of charge in February to say thanks for their loyalty, and it plans to offer a new rewards program at a later date.

On a much lighter note Nintendo has also released its plans for PAX South, which takes place this weekend in San Antonio, TX. The new 3DS XL will be on display for gamers to get their hands on, as well as The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D and Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate. If you’ll be at PAX South make sure to stop by Nintendo’s booth to try these yet to be released 3DS titles out.
