Nintendo Owns 2017’s GOTY Category In The Game Award’s Full List of Nominees

The Game Awards have released all of the nominees for the 2017 season of video game releases, and as far as the Game of the Year category goes, Nintendo is dominating. The nominees will be honored at The Game Awards on Thursday, December 7 at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, which will feature the debut of The Game Awards Orchestra, an all-star group of orchestral and rock musicians who will come together to celebrate video game music.

Nintendo garnered the most nominees with 23 total, while Sony Interactive came in second with 15 nominations, and Activision coming in third with seven nominations. The Game of the Year category includes Horizon Zero Dawn, Super Mario Odyssey and Zelda: Breath of the Wild, as well as Persona 5 from Atlus and PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds from PUBG Corp.

If you want to see the full list of nominees for all of the categories you can head over to The Game Awards site to do so, and you can also cast your own votes for each game in the available categories. You can also watch a message from Geoff Keighly, the creator of the show, above.
