Nintendo Weekly: New Releases for April 30th – May 6th 2015

In all, the weekly releases for this week are kind of on the light side, however as with most cases there are a couple of gems to be found among the releases. Most notably on the Wii U this week, we have Paper Mario re-releasing for all to play once again. As with most Mario titles Paper Mario offers a fun and enjoyable take on the Mario universe that paved the way for many sequels thanks to its charming looks and gameplay.

3DS players this week have no massive releases to look forward to, however if you crave a JRPG then Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor 2: Record Breaker might be right up your alley.

Our Recommendation:

If you have yet to check out Paper Mario then with the recent Wii U re-release there really is not much of an excuse to skip on the title, but if you are somewhat Mario‘d out, but also happen to own lots of amiibos, then it might be worth checking out amiibo Tap. With this brand new app Wii U owners can tap one of their amiibos onto the gamepad and be granted access to one of Nintendo’s many classic titles for 3 minutes across several different scenes. It certainly seems like a great idea, so if you happen to own an amiibo or more, it might be worth checking out.

Like last week it might be best for 3DS players to hold out just one more week with the hopes of something a little more gripping, with that said however the re-release of Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor 2: Record Breaker (damn that’s a mouthful) JRPG fans may well have something to be excited about.
