Nintendo Weekly: New Releases for December 18th – 25th 2014

From the looks of the e-shop releases this week, it seems obvious that the holidays have very much arrived and so if you were hoping for some exciting new game to play before the jolly man with the big beard arrives, then prepare yourselves for possible disappointment. It is not all doom and gloom though with Mega Man Zero saving the week from being too slow on the Wii U. There are a few more releases available too, though none of them particularly scream “buy me, buy me!”. For most though, Mega Man Zero is likely to massively please fans, and so this week’s Wii U releases could have been so much worse.

The same however can unfortunately not be said for the 3DS, with very few games to make an impact on the store. If you absolutely have to buy one, then Asterix: The Mansions of Gods comes across as mini-game fused ancient fun, the setting alone should be a nice change of scenery. Overall though, it is probably best to skip on the 3DS store this week.

Our Recommendation

Unless you love Mega Man then not much else stands out this week, waiting till after the holidays have passed might well be the best idea down to saving money. Would it hurt that much to play another week of Smash or Captain Toad? Doubtfully.
