Now There’s a ‘Secret of Mana’ 3D Remake Coming in 2018

When will it end?! 2017 has been a particularly kind year to gamers with a myriad of high-quality releases consistently scattered throughout. Regardless of preferred genres, there seems to be something for everyone this year, especially for those longing for the “good ol’ days” of gaming. While the nostalgia train moving full speed ahead thanks to games like Crash N. Sane Trilogy and Sonic Mania, there could be no better time for this. Someone somewhere just won a bet.

Secret of Mana is coming to PlayStation 4, Vita, and Steam on February 15, 2018, and it boasts an array of modernized upgrades. A 3D visual overhaul. Various gameplay improvements. A newly arranged soundtrack. There’s more, but you should probably just see it for yourself up above.

If you missed out on 1993’s epic tale of Randi, Primm, and Popoi striving to triumph over an evil empire by reclaiming the power of Mana, here’s another chance. In addition to three PSN avatars, those who pre-order from the PlayStation Store will receive a handful of special costumes: the Tiger Two-Piece (Primm), Tiger Suit (Randi and Popoi), and Moogle Suit (all three). Going the PC route instead? You’ll get the three costumes, as well, but with a downloadable wallpaper instead of the PlayStation portraits—just make sure you pre-purchase the game on Steam or get the Day 1 Edition within one week of launch.

I’m curious to see how the transition between 2D and 3D pans out, especially with the game’s multiplayer aspect involved. Are you excited for Secret of Mana‘s new three-dimensional vision? Let us know what you think about the changes down below.
