In a little less than one week fanboys, comic collectors, cosplayers from all over will descend upon the Big Apple’s Jacob Javitz Center for the New York Comic Con! And while there are many great cons in the Tri-State area throughout the year, the NYCC is the Grand Poobah of them all.

And so for 4 days from October 6th – 9th there will be a ton of comic geeky goodness taking place at the Javits center as well as other areas in Manhattan too. Below I highlight some of the essentials (but not all as there’s way too much) for the comic fan to be aware of. I’ve also loaded this post with a crazy amount of hyperlinks to get you as much information as possible.

NYCC is regarded by many as a comic-centered con, which means there are a ton of comic writers & artists attending and a ton of vendors selling comics and other collectibles. In addition to many entertainment guests, tons of panels and screenings. There’s going to be a tremendous amount of talent at this thing and so while I can’t name them all, I have highlighted a nice chunk below for folks to be mindful of. Just in case you can see the comic guests list in full by clicking here and the schedule for all autographing sessions by clicking here.

HURC’S COMIC GUEST HEAVY HITTER LIST

Amanda Conner (All days) – The famed Harley Quinn artist will be in artist alley DD-10

Charles Soule (All days) – The writer of Daredevil and many other things will be in artist alley X-3

There will also be quite a bit of entertainment guests this year. As with most cons it’s advised to buy tickets for certain photo ops and autograph signings in advance as there is no guarantee you’ll get it just by showing up. There will be an insane amount of people attending this convention and if tickets sell out, they sell out. This is especially true in cases where some guests might not be there for all four days. Below are a few of the big entertainment names to be mindful of. Again, just in case, the full list of entertainment guests can be found by clicking here and photo ops by clicking here.

ENTERTAINMENT GUESTS

Carrie Fisher (Sat/Sun) – Your Worship will be in the NYCC autographing area – table 5

Ralph Macchio (Thur/Sun) – The Karate Kid will be waxing on, waxing off in the NYCC Autographing Area – table 15

Stan Lee (All Days but…) – This will be the great Stan Lee’s last appearance at NYCC proving all good things come to an end. This is one of those cases where it’s best to get tickets in advance because there’s no telling if you can get a ticket the day of. For more details on all the photo opportunities click here.

There are a lot of cool things going down at NYCC this year to be aware of. Most are taking place inside the Javits center, but there are some events going on offsite too. Adam West (All Days but…) – Batman legend Adam West returns to NYCC for all days, but sadly his panels have all sold out at this point.
