The first official full length trailer for Transformers: Age of Extinction has been released, and it focuses on Mark Wahlberg’s character from the film (and a buttload of robots and explosions to boot.) It seems that Marky Mark’s character digs up Optimus Prime’s rotting 18-wheeler frame and brings him back to life, which in turn brings a hell storm down on his family. Didn’t anyone tell him that playing with giant sized talking robots can only yield world ending trouble?
Outside of the brief introduction to the overall plot of Transformers 4, the first official trailer also details the arrival of a new batch of baddies to Earth who look to be up to no good. There’s also a few shots of the Dinobots in action, but at this point they don’t look like they’re too friendly to the Autobot faction.
For what these movies are I must say that I’m intrigued enough to see another Transformers film based on this trailer. I’m not expecting a deep story full of character development and strong narratives, but I do expect to see a film that’s full of great special effects and action, which is just what the doctored ordered sometimes for movies of this nature.
Transformers: Age of Extinction is set to hit theaters on June 27, 2014. It will only be 2D this time around, but it’ll also run on IMAX screens.
