I guess you could also say that he just won the AP Player of the Year for NCAA basketball, but that just doesn’t have the same ring to it. Turner is the first Buckeye to win this honor since the Hippies ruled the universe back in 1964. Unfortunately, Evan Turner’s skills were not enough to get the Bucks to the Final Four, but he sure did his best to make the team succeed.
He averaged 20.3 points, 9.2 rebounds and 5.9 assists a game this season. Too bad his run as a Buckeye is at its end, because he’s probably going to enter the world of the NBA via the draft this year. Hopefully, the black hole left by his abscence can be filled next season, or you could just watch the team that most Buckeye fans watch, the football team.
