The more developer updates I see from Jeff Kaplan, the more I appreciate the transparency between developer and player. Kaplan talks about what worked for Overwatch in 2016 and why, and teases the release of new maps, characters, and features to come in 2017.

This isn’t anything we don’t already know–we can only assume that the Overwatch team is constantly developing new additions to the game, whether they be tweaks to existing characters, new maps for Arcade, Quick Play, and Competitive modes, or new faces in the roster. Kaplan is arguably more vague than usual in this update, but he calls himself out on it and explains that it’s only a small glimpse into much bigger plans.

Check out the video above to see what the Overwatch team is planning for their eSports scene, future in-game features, improvements to custom game functionality, and more.
