Plants Vs Zombies is Finally Headed to Android Devices via Amazon App Store!

It looks like I’m going to have to install the Amazon App Store on my Thunderbolt again, because Pop Cap Games just announced that their tower defense classic Plants vs Zombies will be coming to the Android platform through an exclusive deal with Amazon.  It’s about freaking time isn’t it PvZ fans who are also Android users?  Pop Caps’ phenomenal and highly addictive PvZ has been released on almost any platform you can think of except Android, so this news is music to my ears.  I will still gladly buy this game for my HTC Thunderbolt when it comes out later this month (May) even considering that I’ve already purchased it for XBLA, and the iPad.  It’s a no brainer (Mmm Brains…) for me, so I’ll be launching the Amazon APK ASAP if you know what I mean (if you don’t you’re not a geek, so disregard all of the acronyms)?

Plants Versus Zombies and PC’s Chuzzle should be available for free during the first day of their respective launches on the Amazon Android App Store, and after that they’ll both settle in at a $2.99 price point.  From what I could discern from the announcement it doesn’t look like Amazon will have the exclusive rights to distribute these games forever, so I’d imagine they’ll eventually show up in the traditional Android Market, albeit for a price of course!  Chuzzle will drop first beginning tomorrow (5/17), and then PvZ will drop in a second exclusive offer later this month.   Now I just need to find that deleted Amazon App Store file!?  You’ve been AArrggh BRAINS…
