DeviantART member kevinbolk has created a new cereal for geeks that packs as many pop culture references as possible into the box art. This parody is a grim reminder of how food companies use pop culture references to woo little kids into eating the nutrition-less contents of their product.
Don’t get me wrong though, eating through a box full of sugar to get to a cheap Chinese made toy is one of my fondest memories from being a kid, so it’s not like I’ve banned all cereal consumption. Kevin’s comic is just a great satirical look at the power of pop culture brands, and their ability to get fans to buy anything with their logo on it. It’s a great comment on capitalism if anything. Check it out after the break, and if you like Bolk’s work you can see more here!
