Power Up Box Impressions and Unboxing the Goodies – Better Than Loot Crate?

Fans of EntertainmentBuddha.com know full well that I’m a huge fan of collecting geeky stuff, namely from the comic book, movie, and video game realms, so I’ve become a big fan of the mystery box movement that now features the likes of Loot Crate, Marvel Collector Corps, Nerd Block, Power Up Box, and probably a few more that I don’t even know about. Loot Crate was first to market, so I still subscribe, but if you’ve seen any of my 2015 Loot Crate unboxings I’ve made my low opinion of their content quite clear. They’ve been lackluster and mainly full of what I consider to be the same type of junk you can win at an arcade using tickets from a Skee-ball machine.

The Marvel Collector Corps on the other hand is amazing, but now I may have a new favorite mystery box service to geek out over thanks to Power Up Box. Like the other services, collectors can subscribe to Power Up Box to receive monthly deliveries of awesomeness that can make you feel like a kid on Christmas morning thanks to the anticipation of unboxing the mysterious geeky contents housed within its cardboard walls. Power Up Box offers two subscription levels with Deluxe and Premium editions to choose from. The main difference between the two editions outside of price is the number of pack-in items. For $29.95 a month (can be lower depending on commitment term) the premium edition offers up 6-9 items, and for $19.95 the deluxe edition will offer 4-6 items.

If you love Funko Pop Vinyl Figures, Power Up Box also offers special editions of both of its subscription boxes that will have greater potential to feature Funko Pop, Bobbleheads, Mystery Minis, Dorbz, and other Funko products. Premium boxes will ensure 7-10 Funko collectibles per year, while the Deluxe edition will ensure 3-7 Funko collectibles per year. More details on this ultimate Funko Pop fan Power Up Box can be found on the official website. Not a fan of Funko? Well then you can check out the regular Power Up Box subscriptions to get your collector on.

I highly suggest checking Power Up Box out, especially after I just unboxed the most recent one right here at EB HQ. I was more than happy with the contents, which easily retail for well over the price of admission for these subscriptions. We’re talking Funko Fabrikations, Mystery Minis, Micro Pops, candy, and a rad Batman T-shirt. In fact, the Power Up Box contained more worthwhile collectibles than all of 2015’s Loot Crates combined.

Power Up Box is no joke, so check out the unboxing below and hit the links above if you like what you see so you too can get in on the unboxing fun!
