I’ve been playing around with Crackdown 3 for the past week or so, and now that the video embargo has lifted, I’d like to share a few impressions from the game, in particular, two of its boss battles.
In the video you will see the boss fight with Vargas, who is one of the sub-bosses you must take out before confronting the game’s big bad. The video just features the fight, and not the journey to get to her, which was full of platforming fun.
So far I’ve been having fun with Crackdown 3, but I wouldn’t call any of the campaign gameplay new or groundbreaking for the franchise. It plays well, and looks great, but the gameplay feels mostly unchanged from the originals.
The next boss video shows off more of the battle, thanks to how many layers this one has. I don’t show the kill shot, well, because I died and my DVR shit the bed, but you’ll get to see each stage of the Quist fight until the final one.
Again, gameplay is fun, and the carnage is strong, but I just haven’t found anything new that makes the gameplay standout from Crackdown 3’s predecessors.
Stay tuned for our full review, which will drop tomorrow when the embargo lifts.
