PS4 Update 4.50 to Add External HDD Support and 3D Blu-ray Support for PSVR

Sony has detailed the latest PS4 system software update, which is versioned at 4.5 and is called Sasuke. This update is now being pushed out to those PS4 owners who are in the beta program, so it should be releasing in full over the next two months or so.

Among the new features the update will add are external HDD support for drives up to 8TB with the ability to save games to it. It will also allow for custom wallpapers using in-game screenshots and a few other bells and whistles to tweak your GUI. The Quick Menu is also getting a slight overhaul, and notifications will be simplified. The update will add the ability to comment on activity feeds too.

Finally, in what could be the coolest new feature that the update will provide is 3D blu-ray support for the PSVR. This new feature will allow playback of stereoscopic 3D blu-rays from within the PSVR headset.
