When it comes to the perks included in a game’s Collector’s Edition (CE), developer WG Labs is no slouch. Master of Orion‘s CE comes packed with a multitude of alluring rewards. What’s the biggest benefit? For starters, purchasing a copy will allow you to play the game’s Early Access. Today.
Master of Orion‘s CE comes with a price tag of $49.99, but it seems worth every penny. The original games (Master of Orion 1, 2, and 3) are included with purchase, effectively granting players four full games for the price of one. Once the final release arrives later in 2016, CE holders will gain access to the Master of Orion digital art book as well as the game’s digital soundtrack written by the original Master of Orion composer, David Govett. Retro pixel ships accompany the art and music, but it doesn’t end there.
The Terran Khanate, a new playable race of human refugees forged from war and bloodshed, will be made available for CE owners to experience with the game’s final release. This is exclusive to the CE – and you wouldn’t want to miss out on a sizable chunk of content, would you? Me either.
Master of Orion is the rebirth of the original sci-fi strategy installment from the 90s with a strong focus on multiplayer. The game boasts real-time battles with multiple paths to victory, customizable fleets, and six playable races with more to come in the future.
