If you happen to be in Amsterdam this weekend and also love Paul Verhoeven films then you’re in for a big surprise. Starting tomorrow an art tribute to the director will kick off at the Amsterdam Roest. The tribute is titled “R-Rated Memories” and features works of art dedicated to the amazing library of kick ass film’s Paul has directed over the years.
If you’re unfamiliar with Verhoeven’s work you’re missing out some of the best sci-fi/action movies of all-time. A few of his notable film projects include: Robocop, Starship Troopers, and Total Recall to name a few. He’s known for his over-the-top violence and gore, which is showcased in a great montage of clips after the break. You really should feel ashamed of yourself if you haven’t seen any of his films.
Each of the artists being featured come from all over the world, and their pieces range from demented to comical and creative. You can check out a few of the pieces that will be on display down below. Hit up the official R-Rated Memories site for the full lineup of artists being featured, and to get more details on the event.
