Ralph McQuarrie Star Wars Art Interview From The Lucasfilm Vaults

If it weren’t for Ralph McQuarrie the world may have never seen the iconic samurai warrior inspired Darth Vader costume and many other designs from a galaxy far, far away. He was George’s go-to-guy to fully realize his thoughts on paper, and is responsible for many of the ship and character designs in the original trilogy. Ralph passed away in March of 2012 leaving a void in the Star Wars universe, but today the Lucasfilm vaults have been opened, and a never before heard interview with McQuarrie has been posted to YouTube set against his concept art pieces. If you grew up loving all thing Star Wars then you owe it to your inner fanboy to listed to one of the more influential Star Wars artists of all-time after the break.
