There is no denying that Sony is going full speed ahead with the upcoming PlayStation 4. With strong showings at every major video game show this year, Sony’s dedication to creating the best possible console has been abundantly clear even to the company’s biggest detractors. As great as the console has the potential to be – it is the games that matter most. Thankfully, Sony and some of the industry’s best developers, are hard at work on dozens of PlayStation 4 exclusives. These exclusive titles are sure to face the shape of video gaming for years to come and all of them look absolutely stunning. Take a look at the list below that examines the best of the PlayStation 4’s exclusive offerings. November 15th cannot come soon enough.
5) Driveclub (November 15, 2013):
Evolution Studios created Driveclub with the intention to create the most immersive driving game of all time. Featuring an unbelievably crafted world based off of actual locations, hundreds of perfectly recreated cars, and a heavy emphasis on ‘Club’ based gameplay, Driveclub has something for everyone – not just avid racing simulation fans. Evolution Studios is promising to capture the feeling of true high-speed racing in a way that has never been achieved before. Set to release on the PlayStation 4’s launch day, DriveClub will surely find its way into the collection of many gamers’ libraries.
4) Infamous: Second Son (February 2014):
The newest offering from one of Sony’s flagship franchises, Infamous: Second Son is one of the most anticipated next-gen titles. Set seven years after the events of Infamous 2, Second Son pits players in the role of Delsin Rowe, a young graffiti artist who awakens to conduit powers. Sucker Punch has stated that Second Son will play similarly to the previous two Infamous titles, which comes as great news. The previous two Infamous games were loved by both critics and the masses alike.
3) The Order: 1886 (TBA):
One of the most mysterious games announced for the PlayStation 4, The Order: 1886’s stunning visuals and haunting atmosphere wowed crowds during the game’s announcement at E3 2013. Not much is known about Ready at Dawn’s game right now, but the lack of information is part of the hype surrounding the game. The Order‘s Neo-Victorian aesthetic, complete with inspired weaponry and an alternative take on the world’s history adds a certain level of mystique to the game that often feels missing from titles in recent years. Putting players in the shoes of a member of an ancient order of knights, The Order: 1886, involves a century old battle between horrific foes. Hopefully, as the months continue to roll by, more information on The Order: 1886 will become available.
2) Killzone: Shadow Fall (November 15, 2013):
Another PS4 launch exclusive, Killzone: Shadow Fall, takes the wildly successful shooter franchise and brings it to a whole new level. Taking place thirty years after Killzone 3, Shadow Fall continues the series’ tradition of gorgeous graphics, great gunplay, and in your face action. Set on the planet of Helghan, a war between the Helghast and Vektans wages amidst the ruins. Similarly to previous Killzone entries, Shadow Fall will offer a great campaign and addicting multiplayer.
1) Deep Down (TBA):
Deep Down is Capcom’s most interesting IP in years. Described as ‘Dark Souls meets Assassin’s Creed‘, Deep Down blends rich fantasy with a futuristic setting. With a recent reveal from Capcom informing gamers that Deep Down actually takes place in New York City in the year 2094, this revelation piqued the interest of thousands. Players will apparently be able to interact with magical artifacts, allowing them to be transported to the past where there are dangerous monsters to be fought, dungeons to explore, and treasure to be had. As awesome as that sounds, Capcom sweetened the deal by revealing that Deep Down will be a free-to-play title. Can it get any better than that?
