Red Dead Redemption 2 Delayed Until October 26th, New Screens Released to Ease the Pain

Rockstar has informed fans of its Red Dead Redemption franchise, that Red Dead Redemption 2 will now release on October 26, 2018. In an effort to soothe the pain, Rockstar did release a few new screenshots for the game, which you can see below.

It appears the team needs more time to add polish to the game, and quite frankly I’m just fine with that choice. Rushing a game of this size and popularity would be a mistake, which many other publishers have made, so it’s refreshing to know that Rockstar is more focused on making the best game possible over making money on it as quick as possible. You can read Rockstar’s full statement below.

Dear All,

We are excited to announce that Red Dead Redemption 2 will be released on October 26th 2018. We apologize to everyone disappointed by this delay. While we had hoped to have the game out sooner, we require a little extra time for polish.

We sincerely thank you for your patience and hope that when you get to play the game, you will agree the wait will have been worth it. In the meantime, please check out these screenshots from the game. We look forward to sharing a lot more information with you in the coming weeks.

With thanks,
Rockstar Games
